Markets, concerts, art shows, and scenic spring outings — here are some great ways to enjoy the final weeks of March across Durham Region and the GTA.
 

As winter begins to fade and the first hints of spring arrive, late March offers plenty of opportunities to get out and explore Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area.

From concerts and markets to art shows and scenic walks, here are some upcoming events and activities worth adding to your calendar over the next couple of weeks.

 

REJOICE IN THE LAMB – RESOUND Choir (Oshawa)

A standout local performance featuring over 100 singers, orchestra, and soloists. This powerful and unique concert blends classical and contemporary styles — a must-see for music lovers.

Purple Woods Maple Syrup Festival

Come out and experience a spring tradition in our sugar bush at Purple Woods Conservation Area in Oshawa! Sap collected from hundreds of sugar maple trees is boiled on site into delicious maple syrup. On your self-guided tour, you can visit our modern evaporator, enjoy games, activities, horse-drawn wagon rides, maple taffy on ice, and, of course, pancakes with real maple syrup.

Maple Syrup Festival 2026

Visit our sugar bush and soak in the sights, sounds, and sweet smells of our beautiful farm!  Come for a tapping tour, a sugar shack tour, hiking, taffy, a delicious pancake meal with local farmers' sausages and all-you-can-eat maple syrup, and live music! Our pancakes are made following a beloved family recipe with whole food ingredients. The pork sausages are fresh and picked up every week from Willowtree Farm.

Town of Pickering Volunteer Fair

The town of Ajax is holding its annual volunteer fair this year at Audley Community Centre.  The Rotary Club of Ajax will be among those there looking for volunteers and potential members.
